It is a long and forgotten topic in today's rapidly changing society. Our inability to stop causing devastating effects on the health of our people, especially with the way we eat.

Personally, I have seen many people who eat their food as if there were no tomorrow. We eat as we were starving for days, or is our last meal on Earth! One of the most distinguished of our inability to slow down when we eat features, the obesity rate is increasing rapidly.

Obesity is at a record high of nearly 36% and nearly 70% of Americans are overweight-with similar rates around the world (Center for Disease Control). It has been scientifically proven that eating quickly increases our risk of being overweight.

So why eat fast make us overweight?

1. We can not measure how biologically we are hungry!

We often eat far beyond what we should because we ate too fast. How many of you ate a lot of food and did not realize that they were overfull until about 10 minutes later? Probably all of us.

There is a slight discrepancy between the way we are busy in our stomach, and the rapidity with which it communicates to our brain. Eating too fast, we do not give our stomachs enough time to communicate the way we are busy with our brains.

2. Eating too fast does not allow us to enjoy the culinary experience, which is essential not to overeat!

Our brain needs the psychological satisfaction of eating. Push the food in your throat does not allow you to sit back and enjoy the rush of serotonin and other "feel good" hormones and chemicals your body releases into your bloodstream.

We can flourish from these feelings, and if you rush through your meal, do not enjoy it so easily. Your brain will be psychologically unsatisfied and want more food because of it.

 3: No distractions like TV when eating.
